The garden consists of eight distinct areas: the raised coral reef area, orchid island area, coastal forest area, Taitung cycad area, northern low altitude area, central low altitude area, southern low altitude area, and monsoon rainforest area. Each section features a variety of trees, shrubs, herbs, ferns, and other native plants, totaling over 800 species throughout the park, including those in the greenhouses. These sections offer visitors a comprehensive botanical experience.
There are many interactive experiences awaiting you, such as feeding the fascinating yet fearsome creatures of the Amazon—piranhas and elephant fish.
Tropical Rainforest Greenhouse
Covering an exhibition area of 2,500 square meters, the greenhouse stands 31 meters tall above ground, with an underground height of 4.5 meters and a diameter of 56 meters, making it the most distinctive landmark in Taichung City. The space is home to around 500 plant species, primarily simulating the environment of a tropical lowland rainforest.
